Chicken Shack - Baton Rouge

I ordered two red bean dishes from DoorDash. However, both plates were missing the chicken that was supposed to be included. One plate had no meat at all in the beans, while the other plate only had a small piece of pigtail. The beans were cold and dry.

I regret to have to leave a one-star review for this Black-owned restaurant, despite being a longtime patron. I have been visiting this establishment on N. Acadian Thwy and off of Mohican for years. However, during my recent visit where I ordered two meals for myself and a coworker, I paid for both dinners but explicitly notified them that the meals were for two people. Unfortunately, they disregarded my request and placed both meals on one paper boat instead of in separate boxes. When I requested that they prepare the meals separately, they did not comply.

The picture speaks for itself. Two piece mixed breast and thigh. Crispy, moist, flavorful. Best chicken I've EVER had. Born and raised in Baton Rouge living in Houston the past 10 years. Anytime I'm in town, I'm in Chicken Shack!

The food is so good here. We've been in baton rouge for 2 years and the food is kinda if hit or miss. But this place is delicious. The yams are so good and the chicken had been perfect each time.

The restaurant has a fun and friendly atmosphere that feels like a welcoming family. You are truly treated like family here, so you can expect all the warmth and care that comes with being part of a close-knit group.
