Bidrage med feedbackI used to eat here regularly as a kid (30 years ago) so was eager to try again while back to visit. A bit disappointing in that the main restaurant building has been closed down due to new fire regulations that they could not afford to adopt, so they bought a self contained food truck and parked it out back. So at this point you are basically eating basic festival food from a food truck. I had the burger, nothing to write home about, basic Sysco style patty. The fries were the twice fried type, also seemed to come out of a frozen bag. Not worth the calories imho. It used to have a real 'home made ' flair. That seems to be gone and the only thing left is that though the original restaurant is closed, on nice days you can eat on the deck, otherwise pretty much a take away food truck with Sysco type food.
A friend of mine suggested this place, and we went to check it out completely clueless. We loved what we found! The tiny building/food trucks, perched on the top of a small hill, overlooks the water, with a gorgeous sunset if you can catch it at the right time.Needless to say, the classic Maine food was quite good. My black raspberry milkshake (incredible) was the high point of the meal, but everything else was still amazing!Walk down near the parking lot, you'll find a steep, rocky path leading down a beach. If you can get down the slope, try to stay for a bit at this patch of sand! There are plenty of rocks and beautiful views of the harbor.
We got the fried dough Worth the trip back as they were closed the first time.
Closed during the winter so give them some good business during their busy season
When I tell you we came to Maine to hike and eat lobster, I need you to understand that all we did was hike… and eat lobster. Every. Single. Day. So when I say that this food truck lobster was cooked to perfection, please believe that I had 7 other lobsters to compare it to. We tried fine-dining, side-of-the-road huts, Bar Harbor recommendations, but this… this is my new “hole in the wall” recommendation for anyone traveling to Bass/Bar Harbor. Not only was the market price $5 less than the next lowest (the day we ate, it was $21 for the entire meal!! it was superior in flavor! I don’t know what magic temperature and cook time combo these folks figured out, but if you’re going to eat a lobstah in Maine, you gotta make it Maine-ly Delights. We also got the coconut shrimp, very fresh, and the dipping sauce was amaze-balls.We ordered to-go because it was poor weather and we wanted to eat with our pup, and even with takeaway, the lobster was phenomenal. Such a rarely to find quality like this with prices so agreeable. I wish I could give more stars!
