The Tipsy Trout - BASALT

09/02/2023: This was our 2nd visit. We adore this restaurant. We love sitting outside by the river and enjoying the beautiful scenery. The staff is personable and welcoming, and they are attentive to your needs.I had the cheeseburger and fries. It was a nice size, juicy burger with ample fries, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hubby had the BLAT bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomato with sweet potato fries. He said that the sandwich was tasty and satisfying.If you find yourself in the Basalt, CO area, drop in to The Tipsy Trout. It's a great local hangout!

I recently dined at this restaurant, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Despite being in a tourist town with expected higher prices, the combination of overpriced food and abysmal service left me disappointed.Upon being seated, it took nearly 10 minutes for us to be acknowledged by our server, and it seemed like the only other times we saw her were to take our orders and present the check. We had to rely on another staff member to assist us with basic service tasks, including delivering our food, refilling our drinks, correcting an order mistake, and even securing condiments. It was evident that the restaurant was short-handed, but witnessing our server pass by empty-handed several times was frustrating.The quality of the food didn't justify the high prices, and the lackluster service further exacerbated our disappointment. Not to say the food was bad, but $12 for a side of sweet potatoe fries is crazy. As a current waitress myself, I understand the challenges of the industry, but this experience fell far short of acceptable. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant, and I won't be returning.

Wonderful location next to the river. Food was excellent and in line with the pricing in the area. Great alternative to Aspen for lunch.

Nice on the river spot for Happy Hour, Lunch or Dinner. Gather with friends or visitors and enjoy the view. Funky kinda place with eclectic decorations, indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of spots at the bar. A good variety of menu options and service is friendly. We always stop in here when in the area.

Great service and casual place right on the river. Great double sided bar that is open to the outside in the summer. We visited multiple times during our time in Aspen! Great place.
