Bath Street Fish Chips

I have been here a lot of times, even driving past a few to get there. Fish is cooked to order and ways piping hot, and served with a smile. However this time, it was all very greasy and left an unpleasant feeling. Maybe just unlucky.

This was an excellent fish and chip shop but since the former fryer is now running an award winning chip shop in Kendal the standard here has deteriorated.

The first time I went here it was because I saw the sign at the end of the road, the fish and chips were excellent and the literature on the walls made a song and dance about its story and the owner was chatty and friendly. However the second visit was far from good, the fish was not the same quality and I didn't enjoy it at all and stopped eating it after a couple of mouthfuls. Just my opinion but I won't go again as lack of continuity means I would risk wasting money.

The fish was good, but the chips were pale and disappointing. However, the most disappointing aspect was the extremely rude staff. We encountered truly ignorant individuals, so we will not be coming back. Our visit was on September 15, 2021, around 5:15 pm.

During our time of isolation, we had fish and chips delivered from this restaurant. We were appreciative of the prompt and hot delivery. The chips were nice, although the portion was huge, and the peas were good. However, the fish was just okay, as the batter was too thick and undercooked on the inside. Once the batter was removed, the fish was decent, but the batter needed to be thinner.
