Elsie's Plate Pie - Baron Rouge

Savory pie, sweet pie, tart pie, seafood pie, and yep you guessed it pie. Also has awesome southern comfort food. Highly recommend Elsie's for lunch if your close to downtown.

We always enjoy the Natchitoches meat pies with a side of red beans and rice that comes with a beautiful side salad. What I love the most are their boudin balls (best in BR)!! The cheese is perfectly melted inside them. We never fail to leave without dessert pies.

The place was kinda average, my chicken pot pie was the best of the tables dishes, the crust less seafood pie was very overdone and had to be sent back, which is always a bad thing. Our waiter and all the staff were very lovely. Peanut butter pie was good also.

Dined in with some friends on a Monday night. Food was great, service not so good. There was also a giant cockroach roaming around the restaurant which is apparently a common problem based on other reviews. I got a scoop of ice cream which turned out to be a spoonful. Smallest scoop of ice cream I've ever seen, I felt disrespected. Server didn't refill drinks for our party at all. I had a specialty drink which was terrible.
