Al Poggio Verde - Barghe

I stayed at Al Poggio Verde for two nights. I arrived very late and they waited for me till 2am with a smile and understanding. The host carried my bag rather than rolling it not to disturb the sleeping guest, with a bottle of water in his hand because I might have needed it. Right away you get the feel of kindness and unassuming hospitality. I was late for breakfast but they still brought me a plate and wonderful coffee. The place is elegant but casual. Very comfortable room. Quiet surroundings. I tried the restaurant for lunch and it was just perfect! I highly recommend insalata di polpo : . The immediate surrounding area is rural and beautiful. From the location you can explore lake Garda, Salo, Brescia, Verona and the mountains, always returning to this cozy and comfortable retreat. Charming place highly recommended!

Overall experience was very good. The Owner of this Restaurant is a very nice person and rendered excellent guidance and service during my stay. Prepared all the Vegetarian dishes as per the request. The room is well maintained and the ambience of this Hotel is very good.

Have lunch at Poggio Verde ! I was there already several times and each time was a very exciting culinary experience. No Michelin stars here, no international visitors but very well prepared creative italian cuisine that will make you happy of having selected the place... Every day new suggestions, based on local products and classical receipts but with an additional touch that makes it great ! A lovely couple serves you, he is in the kitchen, she in the dining room, smiling and very friendly. In the summertime, terrace is open. Not to be missed !
