Bidrage med feedbackTerrible food, bad service and the woman working there said that tourists are only there to make things worst and when she saw we were taking pictures to do a review she said she was calling the police. No respect at all.
This place says on the front that they have a lunch menu for 10 euros. We entered the place, asked for the lunch menu (putting our fingers on it) and were gave the menu, which we understood was the place we had to choose the first and second dish from and the woman didn’t say anything (again: we asked for the lunch menu, with a closed price). After the less then average meal we went to pay the bill and the value was 35 euros. The first woman that talked to us had left and this other woman was being SUPER rude saying that we asked from the normal menu, thats it was a different price, what we explained to her that we asked for the lunch menu. After some minutes talking about it she began to be more and more aggressive saying that tourist only go there to f with them. The absolute worst experience we had in 2 months in Italy. Don’t go there!
The lunch special at €10 with starter of pasta, main course, beer or water and followed by coffee is excellent value for money. Just by the entrance to Barga and across for car park providing two hours free parking it is a lovely practical lunch time break venue. The owners were very helpful and engaging. They even provided some extra tourist information tips on where to visit nearby.
“Wine bar-café with snacks” 4 of 5 stars opened by two enetrprising young ladies who have both worked in the catering business and have decided to try on their own. Elena from Ventimiglia, worked in restaurants in Monaco and France, Alina from Rumania with experience at the Osteria da Riccardo. Elena is a wine buff and passionate about it. She 's trying out some lovely wines from Chile, adding them to a respectable wine list wit classics from Tuscany and other regions, meanwhile Alina in the kitchen produces delectable crostini to go with the wine. The menu also offers salads, sandwiches, pasta , hamburgers and cold cuts. High quality fast food Italian style. Went in to try it out after hearing a few comments on prices and quality and wanted to see for myself. Really pleasently surprised. House wine is Tuscan Red or white at 2.50 € a glass. Honest wines with no pretentions of greatness. The prices go up to a max of 5€ a glass for a special Chianti Classico, and the rest are in between. I tried a Banfi Tuscan red at 3€ and was also brought 4 lovely crostini to go wit it. Moved on to a Chilean red I wasn 't familiar with, and got more crostini...anyway, was with a friend and we ended up having 7 glasses of wine and were charged only 15€ for the lot. Meanwhile Elena answered all my questions- she certainly knows her stuff! I 'll certainly will go back in the summer and I wish them both the best of luck! Great for a quick lunch, afternoon peckishness or a little something before going to bed. They 're hoping to attract a younger crowd, but I must say we sixty year olds enjoyed it thoroughly [hidden link]
We arrived in town quite late in the afternoon, between lunch and dinner time. After walking through Barga for a while and not having any luck for food we noticed this place near the carpark on the outside of town. They were nice enough to make us an excellent lunch and also recommended a great local wine. We were looking for pretty much anything at that stage and were very happy that we chanced upon this place. We might not have tried the lovely food otherwise. The lunch and wine were both excellent and the price very reasonable.
