We walk there after visiting Park Guill, it was just as what the review had said. Friendly staff, nice drink. A lot of local people while we were there. Very popular. I like the horchata, but it was a bit too sweet for me. It would be better if the sugar can be added based on each customer's need.

Horchata is a popular Spanish drink made from the chufa plant. It 's served ice-cold, in the summer, and it 's both refreshing and nutritious. You get the real thing here, the best in Barcelona. They also have granizados, which are slushies: try the granizado de café. They 've got ice cream as well, which is quite good though not homemade. They sell high-quality turrones, which are a sort of sweet made of almonds or hazelnuts and honey. The ones here are much better (and more expensive) than the ones you get in the supermarket. The Sirvent is very popular among the locals. I live in the neighborhood, and I come here all the time. Service is fast and friendly, though they don 't speak much English. They have a couple of tables outside that are usually occupied. It 's a real Barcelona experience, not touristy at all. The prices are quite reasonable, an excellent bargain for what you get. If you want something to take home as a gift, a turrón would be a good choice. If you are walking up or down Carrer Escorial from the Joanic metro stop to the Park Güell, definitely stop here to refresh yourself, and try the horchata while hanging out with local families. The área on the other side of Carrer Escorial is called Gracia, and it is a popular área with the locals. There are many bars and restaurants, and it is less expensive, less touristy, and much less dangerous than Ciutat Vella. It 's a good área to spend an evening.
