La Casa Di Caccia

When this restaurant was located in Vicchio above the game reserve it offered spectacular views. The food was wonderful and the service--well it couldn't have been more cordial. We searched for a week to find La Casa di Caccia, stumbling upon it mid afternoon on the last day of our visit, and were welcomed in even though it was the wrong time of day. We went back again for dinner. Such a memorable place, that I will not forget it. I understand that it has moved to Galliano and that the food remains excellent. 2009 and still remember it.

A small restaurant attached to an Agriturismo, the house of game menu includes boar, duck, rabbit, venison and excellent steak. The food was superb, half way through our main course we booked for lunch the next day. Plenty of parking, good options for kids, Mains around €14.

Can't complain about a place called house of game. No really. The boar stew made with Barollo was very good. Potato tortelli excellent. Menu which offers up various choices of hunter's fare from rabbit to cinghiale. House wine from Bolgheri. It's also an agritourism so young families fit in well. Worth the discovery although a bit off the beaten track in Mugello.

A great restaurant, that survived it's move from the hills above Vicchio to Galliano very well. Mirella is a great hostess and the food is simple yet excellent. Try the duck breast capaccio, the pasta con salsa tartuffata and the controfiletto. Yumm. The wild boar stew is great as well. Real Italy

I stopped here after some shopping at the nearby Barberino outlet. We only had one course each because it was a bit late for the kids, but we totally appreciated all of it. Very nice pizza and a duck second course. The traditional tortelli filled with potatoes were apparently very tasty but I did not have the chance to taste them since the kids would not let me try! Friendly and easy but attentive service. The restaurant is placed in a very nice area too. We will definitely go back with more time to try other things.
