Caribe - Barahona

The staff is not welcoming. They advertised dinner and breakfast and after you reserved they tell you that certain day they don't. No hot water, leak in the bathroom, the bathroom door doesn't lock.....

Ok for the price and has a safe parking on the back. bad thing is able to not walk to restaurants and for the two days we were there the restaurant before place was not open. No in the room.

Hotel is good for what you pay... The Staff is awesome and deserves 5 stars, the rooms need to be updated and be AWARE of the noise, is in one of the main streets so is very noisy if you are not used to that. Food is good, but they need to have more variety since you get tired of the same by the 3rd day, koodos to Frank (the server) he was very nice and very accommodating of my 5 years old daughter needs, there is always room for improvements.

It is not a 5-star resort, but it gets 5 stars for what it is. very clean hotel with running hot water, breakfast and dinner is included in the price. over the street from the beach and a casino on the scenic. highly recommended

We were visiting family who live in Barahona and therefore still feel that the choice for Hotel Caribe was the best choice given its location on the Malecon. The staff is overall very helpful and attentive. The ones who stood out were Joel from the restaurant who was always courteous and going above and beyond. Also the older lady who works at Front Desk and I believe her sister. Also the 2 maids that we recall that cleaned our room during this past week. Didn't get their names. The reason for not giving an overall excellent score is because the wifi was somewhat lacking and the rooms are dated, but the latter is not unusual for small hotels in the Dominican Republic. Due to the fact we booked via Airbnb we had direct contact with the Owner/Manager who immediately took action to remedy our issue. Next time we are in Barahona, the only place we would stay if not with family, is Hotel Caribe.
