Le Bernanos - Bar-le-Duc

We picked this place at random because the restaurant we wanted to eat at was closed for the holidays. The setting looked good and the food was reasonably priced (but I work in London so most prices would seem that way!)The food was delicious and the service very friendly although the French was spoken quite quickly. The menu offered a lot of choice. We all chose differing pastas which arrived fresh and not too heavy. The only criticism was the mixed salad didn't come with tomatoes as advertised (no real problem). Dessert was a banana split. Polished off in seconds by a hungry wife and child. I didn't get a look in. Many reviews of this place are negative. Can't say that's what I found. Take a chance. You might enjoy it!

We had a drink here at lunchtime and decided to come back dor dinner in the evening. Good pizzas, good wine, average service. Nothing more to say really.
