Orient Resraurabt - Banora Point

My friends and I dined at this restaurant. The service was mediocre, the food was not enjoyable and had a thick consistency. The deep-fried ice cream had a low-quality icy texture and the caramel sauce lacked true caramel flavor. The bartender was not knowledgeable about the wine selections, as we had to point out the Pinot Noir in the fridge ourselves. Due to faulty air conditioning, we were sweating and one person in our group even got dripped on.

The Orient restaurant is located inside the Twin Towns RSL Club, which is connected to the Mantra Twin Towers. The hotel, club, and restaurant are in need of refurbishment, but it will come with a hefty price tag. There is a lot of wasted space from a design standpoint. However, the service at this restaurant is decent, and the King prawns with cashews were exceptional. The prawns were perfectly cooked, and the vegetables were deliciously crispy. I highly recommend a visit, despite the outdated appearance. It's a shame you have to go to the bar for a glass of wine, as that seems outdated.

Enjoyed a very tasty dinner here last night, the sizzling Sichuan beef was awesome although made the table next to us cough from the spice, friendly and fast service.

Sometimes bad reviews can be suspicious. We went for lunch today for Yum Cha and it was wonderful. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed each course and ordered as we went along. We plan to go back again while we are here. We...loved it!

I read the scathing reviews and just can't see the negatives. We're not the only ones who like the restaurant visit every time we come or even walk by it's packed. Service was a little slow on the Saturday night, but it was full. Seated...by pm, food arrived at pm. My sister in law and me ordered sizzling combination...and they arrived on sizzling hot plates. Most enjoyable. Good big potions, and modestly priced.
