Bidrage med feedbackForget the trendy inner-city pretenders who charge $8 plus and you wait for half an hour to get served.People who queue at these places are crazy.Banh Mi Bay Ngo in Bankstown has existed for as long as this little "Chinatown" section of the plaza in Bankstown has existed. I've been an Aussie regular for probably 20+ years. For $4 you will have the most enjoyable, healthy lunch. The pate is exceptional. Just watching the staff preparing, slicing,l chopping the fresh ingredients is like a mini tour.Choices include Chicken, Pork, Meatballs and Fish meatballs. But I always stick to the favourite Pork Roll.Staff are friendly, happy and always chatting and laughing.A few competitors have opened in the area, they charge less but don't come near nailing the taste and quality of ingredient (and the size is smaller). This little shop is located near the lane- way to the open car-park, and near the chinese herbal medicine store.
Was recommended to Banh Mi Bay Ngo by a Vietnamese friend who said it is the best place in Sydney to get an authentic Vietnamese roll. It did not disappoint! The flavours were exceptional, the ingredients fresh, the mayo hand made - all for AUD$4.00!! Friendly staff - if you are in the area, be sure to find this place.
I tried the Bay Ngo banh mi and then the the Nam Fong banh mi just minute up the street and the Nam Fong banh mi was better. The Bay Ngo banh mi bread was more soft and not crispy and there was a lot less toppings/pork in the pork roll.
This has to be by far the best Banh Mi rolls in the area have eaten. Different types of meat and/or vegetables to choose from. Always busy (that says something) and fresh. The staff there are very friendly. Competitive prices for their rolls. So...glad that they’re back
This is a busy operation, pumping out banh mi quickly for a lot of customers, so it's surprising that the roll seemed so old. Something was off about the pork as well one of the three kinds was fat and the rest seemed...poor quality. Couldn't finish the roll. Nam Fong up the road was the same price but much better.
