Bidrage med feedbackIf you live in Bengaluru or are even visiting the city, then dining at the Shivaji Military Hotel should feature in the top 5 items of your To-Do list. This restaurant has a very rich legacy as it's been operational for the last 80 years. It's a very humble facility, so don't expect any special treatment or hospitality here. The most iconic dish is the Mutton Donne biriyani. Unfortunately, we couldn't get it as we visited a bit late. So the important point to note here is that they have limited stock of all the dishes. There is no concept of ordering here. You just sit down and you are offered all the available dishes one by one. Just let the server know that you want it and he/she will leave it at your spot. I usually do not eat mutton outside but the MUTTON FRY was an exception and I'm glad that I took that decision. The meat just slipped off the bone the moment my teeth touched it, that's how well cooked it was. It was very generously seasoned with black pepper so it had a proper kick to it. If you can handle spicy food, then don't miss the flavorful CHICKEN FRY. It is damn spicy but in a good way. The broth served with the chicken fry was undoubtedly the most flavorful one that I had ever had. Lastly, the CHICKEN DONNE BIRIYANI just nailed it for us. What can one desire but some piping hot biriyani having the taste of the donne leaf and also exuberating the warmth of spices like pepper, cumin powder, cardamom powder, etc. You ought to try it when you're visiting. It is an exhausting experience because of the amount of hogging that you have to do but this kind of gluttony is only going to make your life better. You come in as a hungry diner and leave after a crazy foodgasm. There is no dedicated 4 wheeler parking. So better commute by public transport when you're visiting.
We had to wait for 45min AFTER seating waiting for the food to be served thy look long tym. We ordered mutton biryani but during the wait the mutton biryani was over and they served us chicken biryani. Food was decent and have tasted better in various local shops, its too spicy for my taste. Not a peaceful place to eat with people hounding your table waiting for you to finish..
DON'T VISIT THIS PLACE. Negative rating for this place. Utterly waste crowd management, nothing unique about the taste or dishes. Staff has no idea about the dishes available as each one gives different answers about the availability of food. We went at 9 AM and people who came at 8 are either standing or waiting for their food from 1 hour. Literally slow service and we just need to select from what the waiter brings, hardly he will get what u want. Almost after an hour we got our table and waited for 30 more min for the server to bring any of the dishes. It looks like they want 1 batch of people to complete their turn and then start service for 2nd batch. I totally don't understand why they won't implement any token system or something similar to reduce waiting period. PPL literally have to wait behind your chair to get seats. It literally feels pathetic as kids also wait for food and I felt pity for their situation. Even after the wait the food is below average and we can get the same taste in any Donne biryani restaurant. So much to describe but I can't explain it anymore. I WILL NEVER VISIT THIS PLACE AGAIN.
Chicken biryani and chops made in lovely spices, and lenient amount of oil gives the cooking lovely taste, the dishes give a perspiring tasty feeling. Missed mutton biryani today will go again after 1300 hrs. Between 1200 to 1300 good time as rush is less but for mutton after 1400 hrs. Thanks
Just a heads up The contact number provided on Google is a fake number. Kindly contact the original owner and not this fake person. With regards to the food, the mutton biryani is amazing and is cooked extremely well.
