Bidrage med feedbackWent to see the band Burning Hands on the 20th Jan 24 as advertised, booked a table for dinner as well. The band was apparently double booked and not playing, but there was no info before hand regarding this. Sat for our meal, the menu was pretty sparse and no specials. My wife ordered bruschetta as a starter, and our main meals were calamari with lime and chilli salad and a rump steak (asked for medium). Bruschetta was 2 slices of toast with small cherry tom's and tiny amount of feta and no balsamic dressing as advertised. The calamari was deep fried, full of oil and overcooked, the steak was like shoe leather, hard, dry and tasteless. I left my steak meal after a couple of mouthfuls as it was inedible. Staff seemed to be disinterested and not attentive. They don't even serve your meal to the table anymore, just get the buzzer and collect your own meal, the buzzer was always used for dining on the deck not in the dining room. The menu was pretty weird, everything fried. What's gone on with this pub, yet another in our area that is well below par, also why did they not let patrons know that there was no band on as advertised? We stayed for less than an hour and 15 minutes as it's a soulless grotty looking pub now, with awful food and no atmosphere.
Had dinner at the Bangalow Hotel with my wife- we enjoyed delicious fare straight from the fry pan to our table with flavour to boot. So good having a great chef and a relaxed vibe with friendly staff. Makes all the difference. Highly recommended.
Bought some international guests for dinner here, we hadn 't been for a few years, definitely gone a bit downhill it would seem. Convinced our friends to try a parmi as part of their Aussie introduction, they weren 't converts unfortunately, and couldn 't blame them, it was pretty ordinary. The weirdest thing though was a 'gnocchi salad ' that had what seemed like deep fried gnocchi in it as a sort of crouton...our Italian guest was kind of aghast at this. It was pretty weird. Cooks all bailed from the kitchen to have a smoke while we were eating, think they might need to ease up on whatever they were smoking when they came up with the gnocchi salad idea. Very pretty surrounds though.
For lunch, but hardly impressed. I ordered the expensive burger who expected the mouthwater promise. they missed a mile. the bungalow was dry and stale and the chef used a lot of sauce. the result was a crumbling slime. it is the second bad meal I had here. on the top was the beer cold. service: 4/5 location: 5/5 .more
