Bidrage med feedbackDuring a city walk in an early Monday afternoon in February (was at cold temperatures, but for this, my girlfriend and I felt hungry because we hadn't eaten at noon. It's a coincidence that we hit Mei Wei. While we studied the dining table in front of the restaurant, the entrance door was barely closed, as customers constantly entered or left the snack. Because the food offer was quite acceptable to us and a lot of traffic is never a bad sign, we made our decision for the Mei Wei. Location/Ambience and Cleanliness The China snack is located in the heart of Bamberg, a few meters from the Chain Bridge, on which we also took our meal. By car is the Mei How bad to reach. From the outside, the restaurant made a solid impression. A large dining table hung left from the entrance door. Inside there are some dark little tables on the left, some of which were occupied, with the associated red black chairs (remembers me to the Kyo, my tribe China snack in Würzburg, as well as on the right side a vault on which the order is picked up and behind it an open kitchen. Thus it was possible to watch the cook when preparing the dishes. Decoration and Asian Kitsch were hardly or not present at all. Everything in all for a snack is overly stylish. Cleanliness was great, I rarely saw such a clean fast restaurant. Especially the open kitchen shined. Also the toilets were not to be challenged. The only criticism is the very strict fritusenfett odor. After our ten-minute stay, the clothes smelled clearly perceptible to snack bars. I do not want to eat on site. Three and a half stars for location and ambience, four and a half stars for cleanliness. Service We had to wait a few minutes until we were allowed to make our order, because, as we have seen from the outside, some were going on. The Asian looking female operation was not particularly talkable. Our order picked them up without comment. Just whether for dinner or for taking away, she asked, but also left our answer to take away. Perhaps this was not at all due to their unfriendly nature, but to lack of German knowledge. When she handed over our dishes a little later, she did not give us any cutlery or a bag for transporting the polystyrene boxes. On demand, she then handed out two plastic forks. Two stars for operation. The menu includes various appetizers, noodle soups, fried noodles, fried rice, chickens, pigs and beef and duck and fish. All in different combinations. A total of 55 dishes quote the map. There was also a daily offer. The food I ordered once the number 28, roasted rice with crispy (one of the few spelling errors on the map chicken breast, for 5,50 euros, my friend chose the number 15, roasted noodles vegetarian, for 2,50 euros. After six or seven minutes, the food was handed over to us in Styrofoamboxen and we left the restaurant, as we wanted to enjoy our lunch with a bright sunshine on the chain bridge. My crispy chicken breast was tender and juicy. The panade was crispy, tasty and not too fat. The fried rice was also delicious. Well seasoned and refined with a little vegetables. The portion was plentiful, I was well saturated afterwards. My girlfriend thought this was the best fried noodles she'd ever eaten. I also cost the noodles and also found them very delicious. It wasn't typical Asian noodles, but the noodles were thicker and wider than I used to. This dish was also a decent portion. The only one (not so big for us, for others perhaps criticism: In the fried noodles vegetarian two or three small pieces of meat were hidden. For a real vegetarian, that would certainly have been a problem, my friend felt that was not so bad. Nevertheless good four stars for food. Price Performance Relationship and Conclusion For a total of 8 euros we received two tasty and savory dishes. Therefore, full five stars for the price performance ratio. On site I would probably not eat due to the smell, but Mei Weis food for taking away I definitely recommend. 4 – happy again (1 – certainly not again, 2 – hardly again, 3 – if it results again, 4 – happy again, 5 – definitely back to kitchen trip
