Bidrage med feedbackClassic eckpizzen compound right in the heart of fells point. the only sign that there are vegan options in the interior, the happy cow sticker at the door is not reference on the menu on the availability of vegan cheese and no attempt to combine a vegan option of any interest if they want a real vegan pizza, go to paulie gee's in hampden for the best vegan pizzas of their life with home vegan cheese made. but I digress. we ordered the thin crust, but it was not so thin and it was not very crispy. the cheese saw be daiya. it was okay, but in no way a way out. But! when they enter with the people in the Wee hours and the misties, be sure they can get a vegan cake or slices on this place.
This is a classic, rough baltimore pizza joint buried in the heart of fells point. many local but also many tourist sites. it's hot in summer and the staff seems always tangled. I used to be here when it was the only place in baltimore to get a pizza with vegan cheese, but it is not really worth it now. there are other places that are more vegan and are more pleasant to eat. also, as other reviewers have picked up, their interpretation of vegan for the debate. However, I will say that if I have ordered from the short, older woman with glasses (a owner? she is almost always there), she knows what vegan means and knows to replace the butter-based sauce with olive oil on the pizza I always order. I have never asked about the tomato-based pizza sauce, so can't talk if it's vegan or not. Maybe best to play it safe and order a pizza with olive oil and no other sauce.
I was weary at first but thought, hey, I don 't have to make it!, and got a small caper pizza with soya cheese. It was very good, the cheese was a little too sweet for typical pizza taste, however, I 'm not picky. I know it 's hard to find this option in Baltimore, do you gotta take what you can get! I did eat the WHOLE 10 pizza if that says anything.
I ordered a large/18 $18) teese $4) pizza with artichokes, sundried tomato, black olives, and basil toppings $8). $30 for a pizza is a bit pricey but it was quite big and we'll have leftovers for a couple days. The pizza was downright delicious! All of the ingredients were super fresh and that was the best sauce I've EVER tasted. The staff was very nice service was great. We were lucky enough to get immediate service but I did notice a long line form while we were eating. The atmosphere was cozy and laid back. This will definitely be a monthly treat for our family maybe 2x/month if we can afford to!
Brick Oven Pizza is a must visit place for vegans. They use Teese vegan cheese which is absolutely amazing. They do charge extra for the vegan cheese, but it is understandable as Teese is expensive. They also offer a mock mozzarella (with the Teese) and tomato salad. Both are amazing. Lines can be extremely long there, but it is worth the wait!
