Bidrage med feedbackWe went out for a girls' night at this restaurant, a group of 6. It was a Friday night and there were only 3 tables occupied for dinner. The waitress who served us was friendly, but clearly busy trying to serve both the dining guests and the bar customers. I ordered a chicken parma, but the schnitzel was burnt and they still put the cheese and sauce on top. Two of my friends ordered the lamb burger, but both had burnt buns. There was a 21st birthday party happening in the function room connected to the dining room, which made the atmosphere noisy and disruptive. The bar staff seemed overwhelmed, as it took a long time to get our coffees and even longer to pay the bill. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and I wouldn't return. The venue seemed unsure if it wanted to focus on dining or functions, which affected the overall experience.
I have been to Mr Rede multiple times and always had an excellent experience. The restaurant serves fantastic meals, with the steaks being the best in town and a diverse selection of Parmigianas (the Mexican Parmigiana is my favorite). I have also attended two large events in their function room and found both the venue and service to be exceptional.
I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The staff were unremarkable and the drinks were flat. The appetizers were not good, with the calamari being cold, slimy, and overly seasoned with salt and pepper. The garlic bread with cheese and mustard was overpowering with crushed garlic. The main dishes were just average. The restaurant was empty on a cold night in Ballarat, which may not have been solely due to the weather. I observed some bread left unattended outside the restroom, which was then taken back into the dining area. Overall, I would not recommend dining here.
A group of us had dinner there recently on a Saturday night. There was a function on that night in the next room however there were no other diners in the restaurant for the entire time we were there and the poor service was a disappointment considering we were the only group dining that night. The food was generally good and most agreed that they enjoyed the meal. However the service left a lot to be desired as one of our group did not get his meal and it had to be ordered again when everyone else's food was served . The waitress had to be asked to take drink orders well after we arrived and never came back for the rest of the night to take further drink orders and we had to ask to be served again. We have dined there a number of times since the restaurant opened and food quality has always been excellent however without the service to back it up it's unlikely we will go back anytime soon
Mr rede is a locally owned restaurant and function centre. The staff are exceptional and the food cooked by chef Campbell is second to none. Deb who is an owner and also manages the venue is a true asset to the business. We have dined there in several occasions now and were so impressed we have booked our wedding reception there. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.
