Deli Delicious - Bakersfield

Extremely slow service... even before ordering and give 15-20 minutes; Order was not ready yet. Waited for my order for 10 minutes. The site had a staff of 4 and was not overcrowded at the time. Given the meal price and time spent waiting... don't pay back

Michelle and I enjoyed our sandwiches. Nice people and clean and cozy. A step from other sub-chains. And I like it if I don't have to watch her make my sub sandwich. They also brought them to our table. Also on the menu is French Fries (we did not order them).

It is usually quite good and fast, but recently the service was not the same. We waited 30 from the order to receive our sandwiches. The frits were good, but the sandwich was in the middle. The worker also did not change their gloves between handling sandwiches and touching the refrigerator in front of the register. Not very hygienic. 4/10

Carlos and Nikki did a great job. We've changed our order three times, while we have placed our order and Carlos has treated it with a smile. The restaurant was clean. Service was fast and perfect.

So to preface, I get it was lunch rush, but this location used to be really good. Today was a bad experience I feel worthy of noting. I placed my order online, went to the store and my order wasn?t ready, so I waited. I watched as two people came in, ordered, then received their food and left, still nothing for me (this is 35 minutes after placing the order). I saw them make a couple of sandwiches and set them in the staging area, where they sat untouched for 15 minutes while the expediter took more orders. Come to find out, after getting in line to ask about my order, it was the sandwiches that had been sitting (fair to say the hot sandwich was not, and the cold one was now room temp). This is all after I watch the cashier/expediter who is wearing gloves, go and take cash from people, touch the door handles, and so on, then go grab the bottles of sauce. I don?t think things have changed much since I worked in the food industry, but we were always instructed to wash our hands and get new gloves whenever you went from cashier to food handling. Oh, and they ended up putting on items I had said I didn?t want on my sandwich. Final thoughts: unhygienic, incorrect with my order, let my order sit a nearly unhealthy amount of time, and thankfully you get to tip as you order, never knowing how it is going to go.
