Coconut Joe's Beach Grill - Bakersfield

Ordered fish and chips, and the coconut rum shrimp. Saw great reviews and was highly anticipating the food. We was greatly disappointed. Fish was soggy, falling apart, had no flavor, sitting on top of fries which was also soggy. The coconut rum shrimp was overcooked and the coconut flakes was burnt, and the shrimp had an unexplained garlic taste. Needless to say, we will not be returning anytime soon.

We used to love coming here but the food hasn’t been the same, I usually order the cod tacos and the wife gets tri tip sandwiches. The flavor isn’t there like it was a few years back. I usually ask for extra salsa but they seem stingy with it, I’ll pay for extra salsa.Food: 1/5

This place is a must go when you travel to Bakersfield. Right off 99, drop in and get a legit, really fresh fish and chips meal. The atmosphere is awesome with it's Surfing, Beach theme. We drop in pretty much every time we come through BakersAkers!Food: 5/5

I love this place! Service is always friendly, and the food is good. I tried the shrimp today, and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it is. You have to get there early for lunch because it fills up fast.Food: 4/5
