Rifugio Berggasthof Pralongia - Badia

Great food and really friendly and helpful staff. They provided hors d'oeuvres and prosecco and the sunny, sheltered terrace then lovely food in a separate room. Highly recommended

We came to have a late lunch and found a table that still wasnt cleared from the previous guests. A lady came by our table after 5min and asked if we were finished with our food. We told her that it wasnt our food and that she could clear the table and bring us a menu. She went away with a couple of the plates leaving some of the glasses and plates behind. 5 min later another waitress came along and told us she will be with us in a minute. 5 min later the first lady came back asking the same question as the last time. She got the same anser. This time she left only one plate behind. We waited approximately 15 more minutes before we decided to leave. The second waitress was more enjoying speaking to friends and taking selfies than attending to new guests. In general there was a lot of staff clearing tables or delivering one plate at the time from the kitchen. The food looked ok but it was hard to get an order through. We found another place only few minutes further away along the slope...

As this is a little out of the way, and there seems to be a rifugio at the top (and, frequently) the bottom of every lift in the area, it 's easy to overlook this little gem. It 's not often I 'm spoiled for choice for lunch at mountain restaurants, but this place has a rich and varied menu for hungry skiers at competitive prices. Service was good and our waitress recommended an end of season special wine which was €45 quality for just €25. Whenever passing through this area I will always be sure to recommend a stop at this delightful eatery (or even just a morning refreshment)

Best place to stop in the Dolomites...highly recommended, friendly and attentive staff, super fast and awesome food!
