Bidrage med feedbackWhile I take note of some less enthusiastic reviews (following the departure of Robert Hocker as chef), I still consider this the best restaurant at Grundlsee. Dishes have remained of high quality, both on the fish and the meat side. Friendly service, good choice of wines by the glass. Sequencing of courses however could benefit from better management.
We stayed at the hotel and had both breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was solid, but Dinner is a great experience. I loved the Mediterranean influences on the food. My wife and I both had different parts of the 3 course menu. We both enjoyed every dish. The soups are great and flavorful. The risotto is not too creamy made just the right way. I had the sirloin stake which was very tender considering sirloin is usually quite chewy. My wife's desert poppyseed gnocchi, was a delightful surprise. I had the chocolate cake for desert. It came with a dark chocolate ice cream and a bar of cream which was good, though the cake itself was a bit dry. It lacked sweetness compared to the other ingredients of the dish. The restaurant has a deck right on the water and in case of good weather it's the best location in town. There's a great view of the castle on the lake. The atmosphere is great though if you sit inside the music that's on repeat might drive you nuts.

Für mich einer der schönsten Plätze, die es auf in Österreich gibt. Das muss man einfach gewesen sein.......... ;-)
