Agave - Avon

This was our first visit to Agave and we will absolutely be back. Everything we ordered was delicious, well prepared and generous portions. I enjoyed the portobello fajitas and my Judy had the salmon agave. Both were excellent.

Overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience. The service was friendly, prompt and efficient. First they bring out a salsa, but instead of having tortilla chips, there are two homemade tortillas. We ordered Fundido as an appetizer, and it also came with tortillas which made eating the Fundido a bit difficult. While the basic Mexican food items were somewhat average, the carnitas plate was very good. The ambience was good, not being too cliche Mexican.

The food is always good however our friend had a mysterious non-food item under his mole sauce. (looked like a lee press on nail) Sadly our server didn't really know how to handle it and no one else from the restaurant approached our table to work it out. The meal was taken off the bill and we shared our meals with him.

Haven't been here in a while and forgot how much we enjoy it. Huge menu of delicious options. I had the Platos Grande with carne asada--excellent. Giant frozen margaritas and bottomless fresh, homemade tortillas. Service was excellent. We had many questions on the gigantic menu and the server answered them patiently and effectively. The place is a little dark, but the great food lights it up. Some of the best Mexican in the Vail Valley
