Polpo - AVALON

We loved this restaurant. We had a nice outside table which was just lovely! The food was very solid and the service was attentive. It gets very crowded but it's very well run and super enjoyable. The outdoor atmosphere was preferable to the indoor dining room IMO...but i would have no qualms about sitting inside when it gets colder. I don't know if they're open year round, but if so I'll be back this winter since we have a place here. Thanks for everything we'll be back!!

Host in the front is extremely rude, I walked inside the eating area where there was two chair for those waiting for take out. The host come inside and barks at me to come outside and that he’ll “talk to me out here” so I figured maybe it was too loud, I walk outside, and he says to wait outside. , as another take out customer is allowed to sit inside on a chair. Recovering from a knee injury, couldve used the sit for the 10 minute wait I had. I don’t understand why I was told to stand outside while others were allowed inside. I spent over $100.00 for our order. Just for a snooty host to treat me like I was done homeless man bothering the guests.Sorry I’m not dressed in my fanciest clothes but my wife and I didnt want to eat in. I had shorts, sneakers and a shirt. Something comfortable to wear 8pm while still being able to wear my brace. Foods great though. Staff not so much, unless your dressed for the Oscar’s and can show off your wealth I assume.

Service was fantastic. Francis our server was awesome. Food was absolutely incredible. I had a special spinach fettuccine with lobster crab asparagus and scallops. There were actually huge pieces of tender lobster and full sized sea scallops. And the most tender asparagus shoots I think I’ve ever had. Honestly it was awesome. My wife enjoyed a traditional spaghetti with meatballs but wanted angel hail pasta which the kitchen was happy to accommodate. We started with bruschetta Caesar salad and lobster bisque. Bisque was excellent. Not overly sweet and with great flavor of lobster. Everything was fantastic. Couldn’t give a higher recommendation. Excellent!

Food is always really solid. Service ebbs and flows with the crowds and then night. Servers are usually great but sometimes food is slow to the table. Conversely feels like they are trying to get you out of there as soon as you drop your knife and fork, but understandable because the place is always crowded and deservedly so. We’re here multiple times each summer as well as the off season.

Polpo Avalon is a favorite of our family! The food is delicious and authentic. The staff is always friendly and attentive. We enjoy it so much that we go to their other locations near our home.
