Brasserie Le Commerce - Autun

We came to Autun after having spent a night in another town in Burgundy in which the only dining options were two pizzerias, a kebab place or a one star Michelin restaurant that was way beyond our budget. Immediately upon entering this friendly brasserie the next day in Autun, we rejoiced to see all kinds of traditional French fare on the menu. When I recounted our sad experience the night before to the owner, he immediately prepared us some oysters on the half shell and a couple of glasses of delicious white wine as a gift to restore our faith in Burgundian gastronomy such a lovely and delicious gesture! If you like oysters, the fine de Claires from l'isle de l"oléron were great!

We went here twice during our time in Autun. It is one of a handful of places available. Many locals eat here, which is a good sign. The food is standard French cafeteria style. Things like the Croc Monsieur and the omelettes are great. The Salmon is not very good. This place gets busy during the mornings, when the locals are all having their coffees.

We came to trade yesterday after the funeral of my great father group of 20 people. We were pleasantly surprised to be accepted at more than 14h to be restored! I will never thank you enough for this gesture Living in Autun and knowing the trade for a long time but confessing not to go regularly, I would like to note that the service was awesome. The waitress arrived a few years ago was superb with us smiling, courageous and very professional despite his lack of experience! Thank you. The kitchen is of a refreshing and traditional brewery level we don't ask anymore it's not the bird. The wait was a little long but we took them off and frankly they managed! All this to say that we have had a nice time despite the pain of losing a loved one and that I will occasionally have a coffee or beer between friends. If the boss passes through you have two awesome employees take care!

Very good cuisine, catastrophic service 1h15 for an entry, a dish and a dessert) can be a bad day. Method of work to review because potentially 2 server....

Personally I liked this brewery and authenticity. A warm welcome and a good bistro kitchen. If you don't know where to eat in Autun, near the theatre, take a step on the other side of the road.
