Vic's -b-que - Austin

Vic's is pretty close to home and so I will be going back often. Maybe not the best BBQ in the world, but pretty close to it. The sides could use use a little more love and the service was good. Like I said, I will be going back, it's my new place for good BBQ. I will also be continuing to update this review, I'm sure that I will be posting more positive reviews

Very calm family friendly atmosphere, food was a bit expensive but it’s pretty good bbq. They have a variety of sides as well as pies.

Food was good. I ordered the 3 meat plate and split it with my son. We got the smoked sausage, brisket and chicken with corn and green beans as the side. The chicken (we got a breast and wing)was a bit dry but it was delicious. The brisket pieces we got, again, a little bit dry but the flavor was great. The sausage was great, the moistest of the 3 meats. The veggies (corn and green beans) reminded me of lunchroom veggies, just boiled in the pan and maybe a bit of seasoning but nothing to write home about.The day we came in there was some kind of local charity meeting, so the place looked very crowded, but only about 4 people were actually eating inside and the other probably 20 were just listening to this meeting.The dining room is very Texas decorated, lots of cowboy and southwest decorations. Including any picture of John Wayne set up almost like a little shrine with hot she hangers and things around it. Nice and inviting tho.Price wasn’t bad my meal and my wife’s (she ordered a burger), was under $45 including 3 drinks and the 3 meals. Would come back again if I’m in the area.

Amazing food! Hands down great ? meat ? . Old school look. But worth every penny!!!

Mediocre food with poor customer service. Employees are curt with customers and seem unhappy. Food was edible but it was the worst brisket I've had in Austin so far. Brisket had very little flavor and an odd texture. Chicken servings were tiny and mostly bone. The pork ribs were the best things we ordered but even they were only average and a Texas bbq place that can't do beef right isn't worth a second visit.
