Bidrage med feedbackBuon Cibo..... I believe that means good food in Italian. Apparently this is one of the oldest Italian restaurants in Austin. The service was great, we had many nice people working there checking on our table. One lady who may have been the owner said they've been in business for 19 years. They must be doing something right..... It's a small place, but lots of charm, and it feels very open inside. Kind of a rustic but upscale feel. The walls are stone and brick, and wood tables. I haven't been to Italy, but I felt like I could have been there. The food was amazing. We started with the beet and burrata salad. There wasn't as much of the burrata cheese as I'd hoped for, but the salad was so good... great flavors. For entrees we got the lamb meatballs as well as the shrimp pasta. Both were perfectly seasoned. The tomato sauce was delicious. I'd definitely go back and I highly recommend going if you've never been here.
We made reservations here after we watched the bats at the Congress Avenue bridge. The service was great and our food delicious. I ordered the Zucchini Salad and the Salmon with lentils as a main course. Both were great. My husband ordered the polenta appetizer and at the recommendation of our server the mushroom pasta. They were both great but the polenta was spectacular! Our one complaint is that you pay extra for bread.....really! Seems like it should be included for the price of a meal.
My boyfriend took me to his favorite Italian restaurant during our early dating stage where he raved about their Spaghetti Carbonara nonstop! This place is very intimate and romantic with both indoor bar and table seating in an average noisy environment. We started off with beef carpaccio, my first encounter with raw beef at an Italian restaurant, and it was fantastic with great flavors! We both had the Carbonara as I had to see for myself what all the fuss (technically his fuss) was about! The dish came out hot with an egg nestled in a bed of angel hair pasta. The egg is halfway cooked as it will settle and cook when you mix it within the pasta itself. It was heavenly satisfying and delicious! The staff is friendly and our waitress was excellent! I highly recommend.
Food 5/5 We've been here several times now. I seriously think this is the best bolognese I have ever had. If you disagree please DM me and tell me where you think, I'm always down to try other pastas! : It's a smaller space, we always just sit at the bar or order takeout. I enjoy the wine list here too! My only complaint, twice I've been there and it smells weird. Weird like sewer. I wasn't the only one who thought so either. Would definitely recommended this place to others!
Food: 5 Service: 3 Let me just say that this place has the best carbonara that I have ever freaking had! Great Italian place and portions are just right. I don't really eat that much so I was happy that they weren't too generous. We also got some spaghetti and meatballs and this amazing appetizer that I don't remember the name of... But it was really good so maybe ask what the picture is LOL And we also had this salmon thing that was light and refreshing and seasoned just right The atmosphere is nice and dimly lit, not too loud, and they also have a full bar. (You can definitely eat there) Our server was nice but not like super friendly, maybe she had a bad day..? Maybe we were too needy....? All I asked were for some napkins and straws so idk The bathroom was super nice and clean! They only had one sink but 2 stalls so it was ??? You definitely had space for another sink here so why are you making us share??? LOL
