Make sure to taste the homemade mais tortillas, they are amazing! we've been here since we went out to boot and there was a live Mariachi group while waiting for my suppe. You can't beat that with a stick!
I gave this restaurant four stars. I visited during lunch on a busy Mother's Day. I originally wanted the enchiladas de mol, but the waitress informed me they were out of mole sauce, so I ended up ordering the shrimp enchiladas instead. However, the person I was dining with received the chicken mole platter instead. When I questioned the waitress about the mole sauce situation, she said they hadn't made any more and I couldn't get my mole sauce, but the person I was with received their chicken mole dish with mole sauce on top. Overall, the service was lacking and the waitress had an attitude when we asked about the mix-up. Despite this, the food was delicious.
I googled food near me. Cause I was unloading at the whole foods and this place came up. So I decided to go for a walk to try it out. And honestly it was a very good decision. There food is just stupendous and delicious. Ordered me some mini tacos of pastor. There the bomd. There's service was fonaminal as well to. Friendly people all around. Then still got me burrito ?? to go ??? fatty. Wouldn't mind going again at all. ??
Looks can be deceiving! The Limeade was the only good thing about this place. Service was mediocre, only 3 tables and they brought us the wrong order and tried to make us eat someone elses food. Everything was dry, lack of flavor and veggies were still halfway frozen. The rice was dry and kinda crunchy. The steak and tilapia fish were both dry and lacked flavor, steak was chewy. You could still taste the uncooked masa in the corn tortillas. I've tasted canned beans that were better. The enchiladas were bland and not well made. I might give them another try but TBH I prolly won't go back here. Waste of $40.
This food is absolutely delicious. Usually a restaurant will make a thing good and everything else is missing, but el secreto de abuela makes everything so good! the red salsa is perfect. not too oily, not too clumpy or watered. each taste in it complicated each other. the rice is tasteful, and the camarons a la diabla plate that I got was great. I will come back and bring friends and family here when they visit me in austin.
