Bidrage med feedbackPopped in for a quick lunch ahead of catching the tunnel back to the UK. Mid afternoon on Feb Friday and the place was full. Service was good and the seafood was wonderful. Will def revisit when back again as there was lots left to...explore during future visits. Monk fish in champagne sauce was wonderful as was the saint Jacque starter. ... wish we could get similar places serving seafood in the UK.
Very much a favourite with tourists and decently cooked food most of the time. We have eaten there several times and the rather limited menu palls after a while. Another reviewer described the restaurant as 'characterful ' which is right. The service could also be described...as friendly and 'forthright '. Make sure to book ahead.
We booked well in advance as it was Easter Sunday. When we arrived it was fairly quiet and all seemed well. Within a few minutes the chef had been out and rudely told us to move seats. We did and didn’t make a fuss. We...ordered starters of oysters, prawns and the cocotte of fish. All arrived and tasted good. The next course took 1.5 hours. We asked for the food and they said oh yes, it’s coming. Other tables were served and had left by this time. Eventually it came, I had the cod with prawns in creamy sauce, it was pleasant but the cod was over cooked and sauce was creamy but without any flavour. My husband had the ray wing, again it was over cooked and covered in a bland cream. My daughter ordered the sirloin steak, cooked rare. It was cooked rare but completely inedible, the gristle and sinew made up 90% of the steak. It was awful. She couldn’t eat it and neither could we unusually. By now we had to leave as the service had been so slow. We didn’t have time for the pudding from the 3 course menu. My husband got the bill only to be told as it was Easter Sunday they only take cash unless you have a national identity card... this was a bit late to tell us as the nearest cash machine was 3.5km and we had to leave for our check in back to the UK. They never mentioned this at any point otherwise we would have taken cash out. We explained that we hadn’t been told and not did we have time to go to the cash machine because the meal for 2 course had taken 2.5 hours. They were rude and eventually took my husband to the next restaurant that would take the card!!! I certainly won’t be going back.
We were greeted and painted in a cozy restaurant with a remarkable mural of the beach on the wall. We had super fresh shells. The chips could have been better, some were undercooked. The bread was just a supermarket sliced bread. Why not... fresh baguettes? Dessert and coffee was good. The staff was efficient and good. We went back a week later.
Not as good as before... We are here every year and always 100% happy. It was different this time. No grilled fish available. If no catch is to be understood, the son of Ladyboss is a fisherman. The food was good, but not excellent as in the... The water was very arrogant for several guests around us and very slow. We gave up calling for desert and had it in another place. The restaurant is always full and it seems that they are not enough for guests... The business is always blooming.
