They've still got one or two specialty items from the old menu, the sushi is still great value and well made and what I've tried of the new additions to the menu (the deep fried spicy pork ribs and the dumpling soup) are all good but it's a pity that there's no more Japanese food in the area.
What a fabulous find! Delicious fresh sushi, and other yummy things, at really great prices made by friendly people. I wish I knew it was here sooner!
I love this place. The sushi is always ultra fresh and almost stupidly affordable. So affordable that I refuse to go anywhere else. The venue is a little quiet for my taste, so I tend to preference ordering my food to go. So if you're looking to drag a bucket-load of sushi back home for a movie night, I couldn't recommend these guys higher.
Their prices are ridiculous!!! I almost feel bad for paying so little but I'm not complaining! The sushi is SO fresh, and their portions are nice and big! The fashion sandwiches are HUGE! And could do with a little bit more salmon.. but it was still great! Lovely spring rolls as well! And of course....delicious Sashimi that didn't cost an arm and a leg
Nakamori is an absolute hidden gem. It doesn't look great from the outside the sign is old and faded, the wooden tables inside and out are plain and the ambiance in general leaves quite a bit to be desired. However, if you are looking for excellent Japanese food at a truly amazing price, you can't get much better than this.My husband and I went for dinner, and we started with sushi. The tempura california roll and eel maki were excellent fresh ingredients, well made and very generous with the good stuff (as compared to some sushi places that give mostly rice with a touch of the fish/filling). We went on to have Chicken Yakitori that was tender and full of flavor. For a main, I had the tempura udon which was a huge portion and beautifully prepared and presented, while he had the katsudon donburi, which he said was also delicious and looked beautiful in the box it was presented in.All that food (we were stuffed), plus a couple beers and a cool drink came to just under R300. Highly recommend for anyone who wants REAL Japanese food (instead of Chinese food and sushi like some restaurants). We will definitely be going there again soon.
