Atherton Chinese Restaurant

We were disappointed with the service at this restaurant, especially since there appeared to be plenty of staff available. Our bottle of wine was not opened for us, only two glasses were provided for three people, and no dinner plates were provided despite us mentioning that we would be sharing.

Transport yourself back to the 1980s at this restaurant. It's the perfect spot if you love having a wide range of Westernized Chinese dishes to choose from, numbered from 1 to 70. The meats are tenderized to the point where they lack texture, but the duck in chili plum sauce was surprisingly good, despite the absence of chili. Overall, the experience was average and a bit pricey. However, the crowded dining area suggests that I may just be overly critical, or perhaps there simply isn't much competition in the area.

Nice meals here. Typical Chinese, but well cooked and good portion sizes. Very attentive staff. The atmosphere is warmer than you would find in a Chinese restaurant generally, which we think adds to the meal

Although the menu may not be entirely authentic Chinese, the dishes are consistently delicious and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, especially the vegetables!

If you are after a comfortable bed, large shower and quiet evening, this is the spot.
