Balcon De Cafe - Atenas

Staff are wonderful and help us with our Spanish. Pastries are really lovely and breakfast is divine! We love it here.

My wife and I visit Atenas for 3 weeks every February. This is our go-to place for breakfast. It's truly the best little breakfast place I have ever been to. Excellent food and fantastic service. The outdoor seating is shady and breezy, and the staff is always so friendly. They also sell pastries and jams, which are excellent. If you're in Atenas, don't miss this place.

The BEST French Toast I have ever had! The syrup was amazing too!! The apple turnover was light and fluffy. Will definitely go back when I am back in Costa Rica!

Beautiful selection of baked goods from the grand history of baking traditions. I saw stollen, linzer tartlet, and schnitzel. What country do those come from?..I'm not sure. My friend was getting a huge passion fruit cheesecake and I asked the server if this was Austrian cheesecake. She shuttered and shook her head noooo ... They also have a lending library bookshelf. Pure indulgence, or an absolute necessity for happiness in life .....you choose!
