The stuffed sole and fried calamari were made to perfection with seasonal vegetables for yesterday's pris fixe menu. The tiramisu was a delightful finale to the meal. Highly recommended!
Treating myself for graduation, got the chicken parm. Bartolinos pays exquisite attention to detail and this does not disappoint in aesthetics, presentation and the staff. Menus are easy to read, don't have to worry about options. Bread is fine and the butter is prewarmed, and comes with tomato sauce mixed with cheese. The Cabernet Sauvignon was a full glass and smooth, also the right temperature! Water is sufficiently cool. The chicken parmigiana burns the first bite, exactly as mozzarella SHOULD be. After that, delicious and unique! Comes with pasta as well, with a happy amount of cheese on top. One thing I'll say: it's less chicken than you may get at a diner, and the cheese is bigger than the chicken. Considering the quality that's a non issue, leftovers never taste 100% identical anyway. The crème brûlée they make it themselves! I've had this 3 times in my life, this was the 3rd. It lives up to that kind of quality expectation! Combined with limoncello is an excellent recipe for a good dinner.
If I were to review this restaurant, I'd say it's a slice of Sicilian heaven right in the heart of Astoria. From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in warm, familial vibes. The staff, from the owner to the chef to the waiters, treat you like one of their own, adding a personal touch that's hard to find elsewhere. The atmosphere is simply enchanting, transporting you back to the cozy kitchens of your childhood. Every dish is a masterpiece, crafted with love and tradition, just like Nonna used to make. This isn't just a restaurant; it's a home away from home, a sanctuary of Sicilian flavors and memories. A truly beautiful place that you'll want to return to again and again.
Filet of Sole Oreganata!!! I've had this dish from many places, and only enjoy it here! Would have it now, but i always forget that they are closed on Tuesdays.
Outstanding service. My wife and I have a wonderful meal here. Seems good for hosting groups of people.
