Peerless Restaurant & Bar - Ashland

I tend to return to an environment that extends top notch customer service, you will not get that at Peerless. We were celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary and although the environment was beautiful, the experience was not welcoming. Our server was short tempered and annoyed with our in our older years. We were curious and had questions that must have been perceived as ignorant. The food was not worth the price we paid. I'll go down the street as Ashland has many classy establishments with good food and excellent customer service. Food was interesting and great. Server Kimberley was friendly and helpful. Enjoyable evening.

The service was spotty. Our server could not answer a question about wine and went to get someone else. He was knowledgeable and helped us make our choice, but then our waitress didn’t come back until 15 mins later. She came to take our food order, but didn’t explained daily specials until we prompted her. When we were ready for dessert, the third person came out with dessert menus and took our order, the our waitress reappeared with duplicate dessert menus — she didn’t know that our order was already taken by someone else. The food was of uneven quality— some really tasty, other — blah. Pork cheeks were good, fish of the day was good. Not the best or near the best but still quite good. But the duck was in edible, tough, and had a nasty bitter sauce. My grndson and I both love duck and both orders were prepared exactly the same. They offered us more food but we had a show to get to. Best duck ever, Hen of the Wood Burlington, VT. 2nd best W. Pucks in SF, so not my first duck, but the last meal I will ever eat at peerless. Service was good. But no compensation for in edible food, not good customer service. Yes I told my server.......... Your food was almost as good as 3 Musketeers swordplay at ASF. both in the same class. Mark from Monterey. peerless you earned this review.

Three wait staff went out of their way to make sure my wife and I were taken care of. Truly a great dining experience. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
