Ruby's Chillies of India - Ascot

Basic Indian Fare, with some quality dishes, the Baramati Beef was excellent the Lamb Ahad E Changazi most acceptable. The plain white rice , well cooked and fluffy. They do need to clean their bowls which is served the Papadums, it was very old greasy smell to it. The restaurant itself was very ordinary , very basic ; Not at all like the impression given by their website. They need to spend some more money and attention on their presentation, the waitress wore black track pants and sneakers !

This was my first Indian cuisine experience and I was very impressed. I had a Living Social deal that included an entree main as well as Naan bread. All the food was delicious and thanks to this restaurant I now eat Indian food. The staff were helpful.

Walked in off the street with friends. We ordered a banquet meal to share, and the choices and prices were very good, but the food itself a little bland and ordinary. It is both licensed and BYO for wine and beer, but seriously, go the BYO option and pay the corkage fee the white wine they offered us for $30 AUD at the restaurant is available for $8AUD at any nearby bottle shop. It was a nice evening with friends, but an unremarkable meal, I wouldn't bother returning

My wife had never been interested in Indian food before .... the misconception that Indian cuisine is just curry is common in Australia. Visit Ruby's to experience authentic Indian cuisine; the variety is fantastic. The flavors are truly amazing and we now visit Ruby's regularly. My wife is now a fan .....

My partner and I ordered take-away. The online ordering system was easy (though we had trouble working out if the curries came with rice or not- they come with rice), the food was ready within 30 min, excellent! And the service was friendly. However, we were disappointed with the curries. There was barely enough meat for the two of us in the two curries, and the taste just wasn't there..almost bland. We have both tried many Indian restaurants, and have found better curries elsewhere.
