Laponiakåtan - Arvidsjaur

Offered outdoor seating without a table reservation. Nice view of the lake and less crowded. The fish chips was very good. Crispy batter and perfectly cooked fillet. Friendly staff. Slightly overpriced. Recommended.

I was lucky enough to visit friends in Arvidsjaur during the weekend when the restaurant served up a special seafood platter. The service was excellent, the location is fabulous and the seafood was of the highest quality and the oysters amongst the best I've ever eaten.

This restaurant is much-needed in an area without much choice. But we were disappointed. The menu choice was limited, limited selection of healthy options, lots of chips, and all dishes we had prepared with far too much salt. It's a nice location and in the absence of other choices you will go here. But it's perhaps the lack of competition that means this place isnt kept on its' toes. Could do so much better.

When passing Arvidsjaur I got the possibility to have lunch at Laponiakåtan. The food was excellent and the price was lower than expected for a sunday lunch. Inside the building there were many nice painting made by Pirak.

The location is great, with a beautiful view of the lake. The food was served cold, so it tasted like a left over meal that was really good yesterday. We informed about serious allergies, but they still got the order wrong. Also got different drinks than we ordered. The staff seemed grumpy. Over all the place is way too expencive for the quality of the restaurant.
