Bidrage med feedbackNear the end of our 2 week trip to the battlefields of Western Europe, we settled in Arras at the Ibis (see review). We, quite frankly, had become bored with 'european' food. MacDonald's was not an option as it tends to be the same everywhere. So, we were pleasantly surprised to stumble upon the "Euro Kebab" in the Place des Heros. It's next to a cafe and adjacent to the City Hall.We were there around 1800, on a Monday. There were only a couple of diners there. Apparently 1800 is early in Europe...The menu is quite reasonable. We each ordered the meat platter for 10 euros. It has donair, ground beef, kebab, salad, rice and fries! Needless to say the quantity was more than sufficient. If you don't want that much food, there are less filling options. The quality was good, too. Prepared fresh and served quickly. Everything was well cooked, well seasoned and very tasty!I had a beer (1664) and my wife had mineral water. Everything (including tip) less than 30 euros! The service was good too. The ambiance was incredible, the bells in the square ring at regular intervals and there was a merry-go-round loaded with happy kids in service. Lots of people walking around, or like us, sitting and people watching. If, like us, you become bored of European dining, give Euro Kebab a try in Arras.
The longest service I experienced in a kebab, the manager was alone to manage a dozen orders and has no sense of the organization. Finally, it's not the wait that's going to do everything, let's see the kebab, I took a galette supplement feta frites drink = 9€ if I remember well. I had seen sad things but a cake menu at 9€ ever. the taste: bof, not exciting, nothing good. The feta was discreet. Where's my good taste of meat cooked in a brooch? And meat sauce? suitable vegetables, we could have a little more. The fries: I was warned that it was not his strong point. It's true, undue fries, badly cooked. the double passes well known in the north and the belgium and which could have raised the level of the fries is sacrificed (to save time may be) it fills the stomach but it does not fill the hearts.. it seems that it stays open late, so if ever you get out of a highly alcoholic evening give it its chance, the alcohol helping can be that you enjoy the kebab served.
Stopped here when we couldn't decide on some where to eat. We only wants snack etc. hamburgers in panini? Strange but gorgeous. Our friends had kebab with salad, cous cous and feta. Lovely. Will definitely be here again
Kebab are very good, they give a lot of fries when I come and it is cheap is located on the small square
