Essy's Carriage House - Arlington

Tonight, my friends and I went to this restaurant for dinner and I must say, it was the best food I've had in years. Despite its appearance, this is a high-quality establishment. Thank you, Mr. Essy, you're amazing. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very pleasant for a dinner outing.

My wife's family has been going to Essy's place for four generations now. I recently revisited in 2021 after about five years. Essy's place offers traditional and top-notch service: it's unassuming, clean, friendly, warm, and inviting. The owner is often seen working the front of the house, sometimes with one of his adult children helping out. The food is consistently fresh and tasty, although the portions are on the smaller side compared to today's standards. The only downside is the small size of the venue, which is quite unique.

The service was bad and very slow, the wine list was limited, and the food we ordered was the worst we had in a long time. We ordered their signature dishes, crab cakes and crabs imperial based on the reviews; but both dishes were overcooked and had no taste. We do not go back or recommend this place.

Wiener schnitzel is amazing; delicate, juicy and as tasty as the cutlets my grandmother made once.

A very friendly wait staff, delicious food and reasonably priced!
