Don't be fooled by the look of this place; behind what seems like a simple bakery cafe hides a great set lunch menu with all the choices cooked to perfection. The plates are a step towards international cooking with great but tasty simple versions of staples like carpaccio, salmon tartar, hamburger steak (and several more, seemingly changing from time to time). Every single dish I tried here was full of flavor and the combinations of two dishes with pa amb tomaquet on the side always left me satisfied but feeling balanced which is not always the case with Catalan food. Price of a two-dish, drink coffee menu was 12.50; a step above local price level but the food and the wine was also way above standard so totally justified. The whole staff is really friendly; they take their time so it's a good place to sit down a while (as opposed to a quick 20min lunch). They also serve great smoothies, fruit ice tasty bakery options.

Marfil Bakery is located right in the heart of Arenys de Mar (at Riera Bisbe Pol, 83 It's a new concept which mixes a traditional cafeteria and a bakery. Its decoration brings us memories of New York Greenwich Village. Everything they cater for is highly quality products: from the traditional Catalan pastry to sofisticated sandwiches which will surprise your own imagination. From Monday to Friday they also offered lunch meals at a very reasonable price (starter, main course, glass of wine and a coffee for 11,50€ and with an extraordinarity quality. Service is also worth mentioning. They care for you, they anticipate your needs if you are a regular guest. A can't think of any other better way to start my day.

We popped in here for a quick snack and a cuppa. Lovely tea and good coffee as well as great pastries.
