A walker’s paradise popped in for lunch during a long walk. Big gin selection, some good stuff on cask and sandwiches for lunch. Really long chat with one of the owners, Dave, who made us feel really welcome. Would recommend!

We were on holiday in the area and discovered this lovely traditional pub with a good selection of beer and even better selection of gins. The landlord and his wife made us feel so welcome. They have only had the pub for a short time but have really got things right they deserve to do well. We wish it was our local. Will definitely visit again if in the area. Would highly recommend it. Called in for an evening meal after working on our building project all day. They managed to find us a table, despite there being an event on in the village. The pub is much improved, having changed hands; seems to have good support from village locals , has a good atmosphere, and good beer. We ordered the homemade steak pie, which should and could be a star attraction. It was nicely presented, with extra gravy and the chips and veg were good. The pie itself was disappointing, underseasoned and lacked texture. Get the pie recipe right and we will be back.

This is a fantastic pub! While it may not always be open or serving food, it's definitely worth checking out. We visited for a lovely dinner one night (reservations recommended) and enjoyed an excellent live band on another occasion. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and I have no hesitation in recommending it.
