Hotel Freudenberg - Appenzell

Since the new owners of the Freudenberg took over some weeks ago, we already visited the restaurant twice. The view over the charming village of Appenzell is still the same, but the interior was nicely redesigned and has a pleasant touch of freshness. All dishes we tried were really good and the prices absolutely reasonable. The meat was of outstanding quality and cooked to perfection exactly as we ordered it. We will come back again, soon.

We could see Gasthaus Freudberg up a hill just outside of Appenzell from our hotel room window and set out to find it. A few blocks walk through town and then up a steep five minute walk up a road or a hiking path on the other side. Builds your appetite! You can also go by car. Plenty of tables on the beautiful terrace (or you can eat inside the very nice dining room) and a great view of the whole valley. Food was very good- we had large mixed salad and pork schnitzel with pomme frittes and veggies- all well prepared and delicious. They had English menus and our waitress spoke enough English. And a nice walk down and through town afterwards. Be aware that they are closed on Wednesdays.

Das wahr ein schöner und eindrucksvoller Urlaub wir werden Appenzell und das Panorama Hotel Freudenberg wieder Besuchen

Aussicht ist sehr schön, Personal ist sehr freundlich und das Essen war sehr sehr lecker. Ich würde dieses Hotel auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.
