Mustang Charlie's Diner - Apex

Was very happy to find a place like this. I moved from Rochester where getting a plate is a staple. This one did not disappoint, meat sauce was just right mac salad was good and of course being able to get a zweigles on it (if you know, you know) made me feel like I was at home again.

Surprised to find a restaurant inside a car dealership but it certainly was a pleasant one. Excellent food all cooked to order. Good variety on the menu. I have been a repeat breakfast customer since I found this place three months ago. Definitely would recommend!

Really a 4.8 We just left. Our first visit wasn 't a 5 but definitely not a 4. Enter on ALL WHEEL DR and use the SERVICE entrance i side the dealership. First opportunity is to place a cardboard marker for the diner along the street because seeing the Ford dealership truly confused us. Second opportunity is warm to the shredded cheeses before or after you add it to the plate because you would surprised how quickly it can cool warm eggs. Third opportunity is more flavorful bacon. Cooked right just dry looking like fatback. First compliment is G (thats what she said people call her is so pleasant. She had a smile on her face when we entered, when we ordered and when she brought us our plates. We even made three changes during our order and she never batted an eye. Even suggested some things with our order and saw my hesistancy so offered to let me sample the meat sauce. Great customer service! I am cold natured but the temperature was bearable, the diner bright and neat and the TV 's were muted. Second compliment is the food is cooked to order, which means everything is hot (except for the parts with cold cheese . I started to complain about the portions because I felt the plates were really small compared to. But, I checked the menu and it was only $6.99, (I hadnt paid attention before so the size was comparable to the price. Best of all, my Sunrise Trash Plate, the French Toast combo with chocolate chops and whip cream, OJ and chocolate milk were all delicious and prepared as requested! Third compliment is every change we asked for we got. I had a substitution, things on the side, a larger order but without toppings and my daughter asked for toppings that werent on the menu and we got it all. Plus G separated out my extra french toast. What a nice surprise! We decided to try out this brunch place with another couple. Neither of us have been here before. It is literally inside of the Ford garage! Glad we looked that up ahead of time or else we would have been super lost (there was a sign in the grass when we pulled into the parking lot that did indicate the diner was nearby ... The restaurant was austere and streamlined, but this was actually a welcome atmosphere during Covid times because it makes cleaning so much easier. The bathrooms were in excellent shape and very tidy as well. We all ordered something different, and were all extremely pleased with our meals! We got everything from Belgian waffles and pancakes, to breakfast tacos, to scrambled egg whites, to grits, to fruit bowls, to trash plates and home fries! The food was out quickly and everything was delicious and fresh (except the sausage links, they 'd seen better days... . They even made a few modifications for me so I could make my meal a little healthier. ???? This would be a great place for take away breakfast or lunch if you work nearby! I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because the products they use are super bad for the environment. Even though we ate inside the restaurant, everything was served on non-recyclable plastic plates with one-time use plastic utensils, and all the drinks were in Styrofoam cups (which takes a minimum of 500 years to break down ! When we were done we had to throw everything away in a giant garbage can before leaving. ???? During the two hours that we enjoyed our meal and coffees after, they actually had a good bit of traffic, especially for being in a pretty remote location, but all I could think about was how much waste is being produced there on a daily basis, which is especially shameful at a time when commercially compostable, easily recyclable, and generally more eco-friendly options are available. They did everything else so fantastically, so I hope they consider making some positive changes in this a

I had a huge slice of fish at the Friday fish fry. The food was great. I'm glad I stopped by and would recommend them. Even if it's strange going to a car dealer for good food. I'll be back
