Trattoria La Bilancetta Di Minerva Nuova Gestione

La Bilancetta di Minerva is a family run restaurant on the Anzio coast road. Davide runs the kitchen while Katerina takes care of the service. We sat outside enjoying cooling from the ocean and the setting sun. The mixed seafood platter was wonderful! Different types of prawns, calamari, octopus and white fish were fried to perfection and attractively presented. Muscles were also good. They have a good selection of regional wines. The next time we go to Italy we may make a detour to Anzio simply to have the seafood platter!

Compared with some others places here, around Anzio, this was a nice evening out for an enjoyable meal. We had a choice of seafood and wine and everything was very tasty. The Restaurant is not furnished to modern or to exclusive this and the owners care makes it feeling at home if you go for a nice meal, rather than for talking about it afterwards. We anyway enjoyed it a lot and the bill was acceptable in the end. There are to many others, who add their distance to the beach onto such a bill especiall in the harbour area La Bilancetta is just across the road from the beach and does not follow this nasty habit !! We ended up at La Bilancetta (keep in mind, tripadvisor map points you into a wrong place, but the address is good . Nothing fancy, a real family run business. There were some languagw barriers, as they don't speak too much english, but that does not take off anything from the experience. We ate mixed grilled seafood plate, and a seafood tagliatelle. All were amazing, fresh squid, white fish, calamari, prawns, everything. We did not take any desert, but the espresso is good as it should be in italy: don't expect a fancy 5 star casual restaurant, but a friendly family atmoshphere nice gem in the side of Anzio, Italy
