In Holland, we'd call a brown café. But it's just a pub where you can eat ordinary food. You have a menu and a separate dish every day. Very cheap. And a lot of choice in beer. I went back with my girlfriend a little over a year later, and it was kind of fun. She also enjoyed the good food and the company.
