Bidrage med feedbackOn our drive from Monaco to St Tropez, we hugged the coast looking for a nice place to sit on the beach and enjoy something to drink and to nibble on. Unfortunately, as anyone who has travelled through this area knows it can be very hard to find a restaurant that actually serves food during the day time. We had stopped in a dozen places only to find that they didn't have any food for sale just drinks until we came across L'Effet Mer, where they said that we could order an appetizer. So we pulled up a seat on the beautiful, quiet beach and ordered a couple of drinks. My wife had the Verres Amoureuse (8.50 euros) and I had a non alcoholic drink called a Fied Ginger (10 euros). We ordered a plate of hummus (11 euros) and a couple of Caesar salads with chicken. Our drinks came quite quickly as did the hummus, which was a large portion and very tasty. The salads took a little longer than we would have liked and were the strangest Caesar salads we had ever had. So many tomatoes slices, loads of chicken and cheese and hardly any lettuce at all. I think that they only had enough lettuce for one salad and tried to stretch it into two salads! They were an astounding 21 euros each!! But what made the place so nice was being able to get out of the sun and the heat and take off our sandals and sit at a table in the sand just a few feet away from the lovely water and just relax. The servers were quite friendly, there was hardly any noise at all and we were just able to take in the sights and have a nice time before we had to hop in our car and continue along our way. Check them out if you are there and try to check out their full menu as they appear to have a lot of great (but expensive) choices.
The service was nonchalant. The prices were simply unreasonable. For example I payed 26 euros for a simple lunch dish.
The food was good however the service was just horrible. When you consider that we were two couples and that we were ordering wine/multiple dishes/etc., you would think that the waitress would have been nicer and that she would have served us the wine. Yet, it was not the case. We were mostly ignored (we were 2nd row on the beach) and even though the check was around 200euros. I was the one serving the wine in the glasses (which was the first time I ever did this in a restaurant when the dishes are all above 20euros). It was also difficult to ask something to the waitress as she was more interested in the people who had monogram LV (ironic since I think we were all well dressed and wearing « expensive » clothing but maybe not as expensive or show-off). I think we were looking too cheap for them (I was wearing a Sandro dress, a prada bag and Cartier watch/earrings), thus I would advise you to try to go to this restaurant when you are better dressed. My boyfriend had a Rolex on his wrist while the other boy had an audemars piguet watch so too cheap also I think
Private beach with a warm and comfortable atmosphere. The feet in the sand or feet in the water (this is the case to say for the first line of bridges), a very beautiful decoration and delicious dishes and gourmet desserts that demand more?! I recommend without hesitation this beach which is one of my favorites.
A good place! I discovered the sea effect last year and I love this place. I came there three times during this summer vacation and every time we had fun. We had a great welcome and always served by Morgane who is very professional and attentive. The dishes are really tasty, the cocktails are very good and we feel good. The prices are quite correct for this type of card and we eat the feet in the sand so the frame is quite exceptional to spend a good time.
