Bidrage med feedbackThis hotel is right on the B14, a German federal road. When I asked at check-in for a quiet room, I was told curtly, "all our rooms are quiet!". Sure. Until you open the window! However, if you don't mind sleeping with closed windows or have ear plugs, you're OK.Otherwise, sullen staff all around. Maybe they had a bad day. Sullen check-in, sullen breakfast lady, sullen check-out. (I'm fully bilingual so I don't have the language problem). The decor is very antiquated, either old, traditional Bavarian style or green tiled walls, left over from the 80s.Breakfast was great, though. I didn't eat at the restaurant but it looked like good quality, traditional Bavarian food. This hotel is very close to the US Army Garrison in Ansbach and I suspect the hotel has enjoyed this captive market for too long and seen no need to change.
I had the lamb with Bavarian dumplings, holy moly was it good! I got there early on Wedendsday night and almost every table was reserved. I thought it was because there was a party. Nope. Just excellent food for a fair price-and clearly the word is out. I recommend you get a reservation and try this place if you are in the area and want some great Bavarian cuisine.
Serve well prepared Bavarian style meals in well appointed dinning room. Friendly bi-lingual servers are very familiar with comparable American dishes & able to help selections.
This is probably my family's favorite restaurant in Ansbach: I don't think we ever had a bad dish or something we would not order again. It is very "German", so don't expect a server to hover over your shoulder - you may have to get their attention, but that's pretty normal in Bavaria. However, the staff is very helpful and it's definitely a family-run restaurant.
Attended a group function here and it was very disappointing. Poor service, poor food and absolutely no atmosphere-unless you want to dine by florescent lights with multiple distractions. Over priced and inattentive service. Dull, dingy surroundings.
