Bidrage med feedbackI placed a catering order for my husband’s 60th for brisket. When I went to call in my payment on the day of party at 11:30 AM, I was told they can’t fulfill my order due to power being out since Wednesday! The manager then told me I should have received an email. I told him I had not and this deserves a more personable approach to be sure I am aware. I did look and found an email that was sent at 8:34 AM the day of my party. Now, I understand it is unfortunate to have no power, but I do think I should have more than six hour notice before guests are arriving to prepare an alternate food plan. When I finally got to talk to the owner, he was very apologetic, but I think I deserve a little more than an apology. I asked him to tell me what he thought would be a reasonable solution. He then asked me so I told him the guest at my party said he should offer my order to me. He said he would not do that, and ended the conversation by calling me rude! It truly is sad that this is an acceptable way to treat customers. The food at Ricewood is good, but the care of the customer definitely is NOT!
I placed a catering order for brisket. I was told the morning of my event less than 6 hours of my guests arriving that my order would not be fulfilled due to a power outage that they were aware for 4 days prior. I was told they were hoping to have power restored. I thought it extremely inconsiderate that I had no notification of this until the day of the event. I also wondered how they planned to get 9#’s of brisket ready in less than 6 hours even if the power was restored. The owner did not seem concerned about how this was handled an actually said I am rude.
The young man that took our order was fun and knowledgeable. After asking about wheat in the soy sauce they use he gave me a spicy-mayo-of-sorts to use on my bowl instead of the BBQ. Food was great. I hope they will work on creating sauces without wheat/gluten.PSA. Ricewood is located IN York Food and Drink. We walked around for awhile until we found it inside.Dietary restrictions: I asked about wheat-free (gluten-free) menu items and most of their sides and sauces are made with soy sauce, containing wheat. If you are celiac or strict GF they don't offer much.
I’m from Texas and take my brisket very seriously and Ricewood did not disappoint. I was happily surprised. Brisket quality and quantity was great. Waffle fries were perfectly crispy. Very happy.Food: 5/5
Some of the best bbq in Ann Arbor area with an Asian-fusion twist in the form of its rice bowl creations. Don’t worry that isn’t your thing, because they also offer meats by the pound. It’s all very good. The ribs were perfectly cooked (bite tender but not falling off the bone) and the pork belly was fabulous. It can be very hard to find parking and seats at this location of you go during lunch time but it’s worth the effort.
