Bidrage med feedbackThis is the second time I stayed at this hotel. The first was pre-pandemic. Boy have things changed. I checked into my room and it looked clean, but looks are deceiving. There was a ring around the toilet bowl...a simple scrub or pour of beach would have taken care of this. There were long black hairs in the bathroom, we all have short blond hair....not ours. There was a chair in the room and there was food between the cushions. Also, there was no maid service during the stay. We were not made aware of this, and for $250 a night this should have been provided. Especially since the cleaning person was sitting at the end of the hall on their phone for most of the day.
Loved just about everything about the place. It is on the top (4th) floor of the League right next door to Hill Auditorium on the UM campus. There is an elevator. In an older bldg, the price was right (180.00/night includ. tax) and included tea/coffee all day and a mini breakfast starting at 8PM. The breakfast was juice, yogurt and package bagels with cream cheese. Would really be nice to have a toaster. The room and bed was comfy but would have liked a toilet lid, I was always afraid I would accidentally drop something in the toilet. The reception desk is manned by student workers. Would stay there again.
Pretty good food. When the selections, your appetite wants/needs are available. It's mostly ladies helping you up. Most of them are nice. Some of that male managers hover over, staring right at you. Kind of gives me a hurry up feeling...
Dining services in the Michigan League, with a variety of food options. Check out some of the featured local restaurants at the Local Plate counter. Convenient to central campus. Good options, but I be seating gets crowded. Check out the additional seating in the basement area.
Maizie's is a great spot to study and get some work done and also has some good food options. I have tried almost every flatbread at Maizie's and my favorite is the chicken bacon ranch but I also like the margherita pesto. They change out the hot food entree and sides depending on the day and I really loved the Swedish meatballs, fries, mashed potatoes and gravy but they also have other options like soy noodles and fried rice. They also have a section where local restaurants rotate out depending on the day of the week and they also have cold options like hummus and sushi. You can also get coffee and juices at Maizie's. I'm usually a soda person but I enjoyed their mango smoothie which was very thick and mango-y. You can pay using your dining dollars if you are a University of Michigan student. The main reason I like going to Maizie's is it is conveniently located in the Michigan League. There is also plenty of nice seating, and you can stay a while to be productive.
