Bidrage med feedbackWe arrived (no reservation) were quickly sitting by a frienly waitress; we ordered their house wine (50 cl) and pieces of white meat huh and a millefeuille of bark medium. bot was delicious and served with a selection of sauces. the bill came to almost 42 euro. we had no hunger and we were satisfied with this evening meal; we will be back!
I visited la boucherie during a family dinner. it was a disappointing experience for a few reasons. I ordered an arbor (heckersteak) with flat fitting. while the meat was properly cooked, the confit was tasteless and inconspicuous. the same went for the accompanying fried. most likely frozen. the restaurant costs 16,90 eur. glooms have not saved the day as all the options looked like industry. Finally, the restaurant in a cold night in angers (under 5 degrees c) is discreet and uncomfortable. definitiw no unforgettable dinner, la boucherie in angers is rather an cafeteria than restaurant eating unfortunately.
Popped in for lunch after reading the street menu. We presumed this was a Cheap Eats kind of place but was surprised by the quality of food on offer. The service was excellent we were made to feel very welcome. On top of this,...the bill was more than acceptable as it came to less than 45 euros for the two, three course meals including a litre of wine. Well worth the visit!
I've been here quite a few times and doubtless will be back again. This steakhouse is a good solid standby. Probably rates a little bit more than the three stars I'm giving it, but I can't bring myself to give it four. The menu is...unexceptional, but the steaks are good quality local meat. Service tends to be a bit haphazard. But I've never come away unhappy with a meal there. Good place to go with the family.
We visited La Boucherie many, many times going back to the early 90's, and we were delighted to see it had re-opened this year after a year or two as another named restaurant. The menu has changed from previously; snails, for example, are no longer...offered. We opted for steak, and it was OK, but presented with chips and salad it just looked drab. The dessert we selected was ice creamy and was equally OK. The thing we felt most disappointed with was the service. The staff hovered indiscretely peering at people to see if they had finished their course. The lad who waited on at our table forgot one of the starters and had to be reminded. The same lad tried to leave cutlery used for the starter to again be used on the main course. When we stood up to leave, having paid our bill, the lad plus two waitresses rushed over to see what tip we'd left. Conclusion: the food was OK, but uninspiring and pricey. We lelt feeling that this La Boucherie had dumbed down immensely to the point that it was heading towards becoming an extremely overpriced Wimpy Bar. Disappointing.
