Bidrage med feedbackFor a first experience in a resturant in Ancona it was terrible. We ordered the antipasti for everyone at the table and our prima and secondi. After 2 hours still no antipasti arrived. My primo arrived , i ate it and still no other food for anyone else. Eventually two of the other 3 meals arrived. Still no antipasti. The old gentleman who managers the place was rude beyond words and did nothing to address the situation. The restaurant was not busy. The venue is good but nothing else. Pity as this could be a unique resturant based on the setting. Time for someone young and enthusiastic to take over this resturant.
Terrible experience, the staff is extremely unprofessional and unpolite, and food is below average. To avoid cerefully!
The restaurant has received some negative reviews because of the rants of the manager, who expressed prejudices on a customer based on her name and country of origin. The client in question was 'guilty ' of having expressed her dissatisfaction with a negative review. I am embarrassed to be a fellow countrymate of the character who runs the restaurant. On its own, this would be more than enough for a negative review, but I also had dinner once and I did not like it at all –without knowing the owner 's prejudices. Let 's start with the decor. Shabby chic style that I don 't like, but still can 't compromise the beauty of the place given its location literally by the sea. To reach the restaurant you pass by a underpass to cross a wide street (the Via Flaminia), typical of the Italian smothered hinterland. I do not believe that the place can be reached by public transport, except maybe by some entrepreneurial spirit. Second, the food. It is a fish restaurant that follows the local tradition but has absolutely nothing remarkable, except for the extraordinary mediocrity of the dishes. There are various fish restaurants in Ancona and its surroundings and each of those I frequent has some strong points on the menu: maybe stockfish, or special hot hors d 'oeuvres, or simply fresh fish prepared simply, served at good prices. In the case of Vecchia Pesca, everything seemed to me to be of medium-low level except for the prices that are higher end. Finally, the service. After the appetizer and the first, I asked for a dessert. Then I asked for it twice more, but although the place was two thirds empty, we were not able to make us bring the cake after more than half an hour of waiting. In the end, we got up to pay and the only dessert we saw was the one on the bill that we obviously got corrected. Things that happen, but confirmed the general impression of a cold and sloppy service. This only positive note of this restaurant is the view, unfortunately it is wasted.
We have lunch at this restaurant at the end of august 2016. We been 7 adults and 3 kids. I really like to recomand this place...as the view from the tables is amazing...only very blue see ...and the food ....great. We have some fresh fish ...tuna stakes...see food pasta...every thing fresh from the same day!!! The house white wine ...was going perfect with the fish ...very fine wine. I was so impressed about everything about this place...the view...the food...the wine...the staff...everithing was more than i could imagine...perfect!!! The restaurant is a tratoria...i think is a family run restaurant... The price are not very cheap ...but worth 100%!!!! I would go there again every time i have the chance. I recomand this place for people how like fresh fish ...real fish from the Adriatic see!!!
